What does the build process look like?
At Brackish Outfitters, we do our custom rod builds from the bottom up. During your free phone consultation, we’ll start by discussing your fishing habits and habitats: your dream day out, how this new custom rod will complement any other rods you might already have, and your goals. A rod should always be built to suit how you’ll use it, so this is critical to the process.
Once we establish how and where you’ll fish this rod, we’ll pick the rod material, length, weight, action, number of pieces, uplocking or downlocking reel seats, and guide materials. You’ll choose between a ready-made handle or a custom handle made just for you by our local partner. You’ll choose your colors and designs. As a one-of-a-kind piece, every Brackish Outfitters rod is finished with a build number and custom inscription of your choice.
